Hyang Hyun joined Freedom Speakers International in 2018 as a student to study English.

Hyang escaped from North Korea and came to South Korea in 2014.

She graduated in Myongji University with a bachelor’s degree in musical performance and became a master student at the Kookmin University Graduate School of Legal Affairs in 2023.

She is a lecturer at the South Korean Ministry of Defense and has given a variety of speeches related to North Korean human rights.

Hyang has also been a member of the “North and South Music Band” since 2023 and has participated in several music concerts. She joined the band as a producer and performs as a main vocalist and MC.
