Nayeon Kim joined Freedom Speakers International as a speaker in 2024. She graduated in 2024 from Handong Global University with a major in ICT Convergence and Counseling Psychology.

In 2016, she escaped from North Korea with her younger sister to reunite with her mother. After arriving in South Korea, the experiences of living in North Korea, the fears during our escape, and the challenges of adapting to life in the South had a profound impact on her. These experiences led me to pursue a career in counseling psychology, and now she is dedicated to helping fellow refugees with the psychological difficulties they face.

She hopes that her story can help more people understand and empathize with the challenges faced by North Korean refugees.
